General
The house rules of Ethical Dog Trainers apply on the training grounds.
1.0 Owners are required to have read the house rules and General Terms and Conditions before entering the training field and/or participating in a group or private training session.
2.0 By registering for a course or private training, and/or after Ethical Dog Trainers has confirmed participation in a group or private training, the owner agrees to Ethical Dog Trainers’ General Terms and Conditions.
House rules
3.1 Follow the instructions of the (assistant) instructors in the event of emergencies or incidents. Ethical Dog Trainers / EDT instructors reserve the right, at all times and for compelling reasons, to deny a dog–owner combination access to the training or the field.
3.2 Maintain a minimum distance of 3 metres from other dogs.
3.3 Clean up any faeces left by your dog.
3.4 Greetings between dogs (even on lead) are NOT permitted.
3.5 During training sessions, only welfare-oriented training methods are used. Your dog must wear a collar and preferably a Y-harness or H-harness. Slip leads, choke chains, and retractable leads/flexi leads are not permitted.
3.6 To participate in our training sessions, your dog must be social towards both people and other dogs.
3.7 The minimum age to handle a dog during a course is 18 years. Children under 18 may only participate in a course with the instructor’s prior approval.
3.8 Sick, lame, or dogs that have tested positive for Giardia are not permitted on the premises or in training. If there is any doubt about the dog’s fitness, the instructor reserves the right to deny the dog access to the training. If a dog cannot attend a session for (physical) reasons (e.g. being in season), the lesson fee will not be refunded. If a dog is unable to follow the training due to circumstances, the owner may attend the training without the dog.
4.0 By arrangement, it is always possible to visit the dog school once before the start of a training session or course to get an impression of the location, the instructor(s), and the way in which we conduct our (group) training sessions.
5.0 By arrangement, it is always possible to request an introductory training session with us. This is a 45-minute private training session, charged at the standard rate for a private training.

Damage and liability
6.1 Ethical Dog Trainers and the (assistant) instructors of the dog school are not liable for lost property, damage, personal injury, or injury to dogs, whether or not caused by third parties or other dogs at the training location.
6.2 Participation by the owner and his/her dog in a group or private training session is at the owner’s own risk and responsibility. The dog owner and/or handler remain fully liable for the behaviour of his/her dog(s) at all times.
6.3 Participants in a group or individual training session must hold a valid third-party liability insurance policy (Personal Liability Insurance, WAP) that also covers his/her dog(s).
Payment, cancellation, and refunds
7.1 All fees include 21% VAT.
7.2 Payment is required prior to the start of the private training or group course. After registering for a course or consultation, you will receive a confirmation with a payment request, which obliges you to make immediate payment of the course fee or consultation rate. After payment, you will have free access to the online platform and use of the app.
7.2.1 Purchasing the puppy course package (6 lessons) entitles you to free use of the online platform and the option to flexibly schedule lessons within a 3-month period. The package is valid for 3 months from the start date. Unused lessons will expire after this period.
7.2.2 Purchasing the puppy course package – extended version (10 lessons) entitles you to free use of the online platform and the option to flexibly schedule lessons within a 5-month period. The package is valid for 5 months from the start date. Unused lessons will expire after this period.
7.3 Ethical Dog Trainers reserves the right to cancel the course in the event of insufficient registrations (fewer than 3), or to place you and your dog in a different training group if the instructor deems this necessary.
7.4 If a participating student cancels before the course start date, the course fee will be refunded in full. However, if the student has already been granted access to the online learning environment or is using the app after payment of the course fee, an amount of 40% of the course fee will be deducted.
7.5 If a participating student cancels after the course has started, the remaining course fee will be refunded pro rata, minus 40% of the total course fee for access to the online learning environment or app.
7.6 If a dog or owner is unable to continue with the remainder of the course/group training sessions for physical reasons after the course has started, no refund is possible.
7.7 If, after payment of the course fee, a combination is excluded by the instructor from participating in a group training session for compelling reasons, there is the option to convert the remaining training credit pro rata into private training session(s).
Catch-up sessions and force majeure
8.1 It is possible to make up a missed group training session, by arrangement with the instructor and within 3 months of registration.
8.2 Private training sessions can be rescheduled and made up at another time, up to 24 hours before the start of the training.
8.3 Training sessions will always take place, except in the event of unforeseen circumstances such as snowfall, thunderstorms, hail, or storms at the time of the training, or illness of the instructor.
8.4 If a training session is cancelled, you will receive a cancellation message via WhatsApp on the day of the training, around 08:30. The end date of the course will then be extended by one week.
